Project "Digital Journalism 2020" completed on October 28
Moscow, October 28. The official closing of the All-Russian educational project "Digital Journalism" (18+), organized by ANO "Digital Platforms", took place on October 28. A new batch of students is planned to be selected next year.
"The project showed great demand among journalists, representatives of government structures, and NGOs. We had to extend the application deadline several times, as there was a high influx of people wanting to join the training. We are grateful to all our listeners, speakers, and partners who took part in this project, as well as the regional governments that actively joined the project,"
— said the CEO of ANO "Digital Platforms" Arseny Shchelcin.
More than 4,000 people from all over Russia received training in the "Digital Journalism" project. They watched lectures, interviews, master classes, participated in writing practical assignments, and attended face-to-face events in Moscow or the regions.
Journalists from major Russian media such as TASS, RT, RBC, RNS, MIA "Russia Today", Vesti.HiTech, SM2, RusBase, and others, as well as representatives of well-known IT companies such as Ru-Center, TrueConf, Naumen, and others, spoke at the project. The project was implemented with the support of a grant from the President of the Russian Federation, provided by the Presidential Grants Fund.
Among the project listeners were chief editors and correspondents of major capital, regional and federal media, representatives of NGOs involved in promoting the digital economy, finalists of the "Leaders of Russia" and other competitions.
"We have a very diverse audience, but we tried to make our lectures useful for both novice journalists, NGO representatives, and government structures, as well as for experienced journalists. Judging by the feedback from colleagues, we coped with the task," said the head of the project "Digital Journalism" Vladimir Zykov.
Project listeners said that during the training, many of them started their own blogs and channels in social applications, began running regular columns on IT in their media, got to know representatives of the government sector responsible for digitalization in their region, as well as the main players in the digital market in the country.
Some especially noted that they liked and benefited most from the practical activities of writing news in the format of federal media.
"We organized an internship at the project's Moscow office, and novice authors had the opportunity to work in journalism in real conditions, write articles, and receive feedback. Their texts were published in the media," added Zykov.
The best students, after completing the project, began internships in well-known Russian media, and the most distinguished received certificates of completion and gifts from partners, such as a subscription to the data backup service Acronis, online cinema TvZavr, and MyBook - the largest subscription book service that provides access to a catalog of over 300,000 electronic and audiobooks: from fiction to popular science and business literature. In addition, the organizers of the educational project prepared a selection of books on MyBook that will be useful to any journalist, novice or experienced. These works were written at different times but meet today's needs.
